Date: 2014-02-26 02:10 am (UTC)Relatively strict. They've let me fudge the limit by 100 words or so in the past, but more than that they'll want to treat it as a novella instead of as a short story.
I'll fix it in editing. Which reminds me! This link went around Tumblr not long ago: Hemingway app, a tool to help you pare down your writing. It may come in handy for people who are too verbose, as I tend to be.
