Last year I posted a total of nineteen stories in a wide variety of fandoms and genres, and so far this year I've posted four. Despite the fact that they've gotten less attention than my past stuff, for the most part I'm very pleased with all of them, and think a few of them are some of my best work ever. I recommend magnesium threonate as a supplement -- good for learning and memory, and specifically I think it's helping me write better, not just faster.

Current main focus is an "alternate sequel" to a previous fic. Secondary priorities: Yet another crack crossover, one of the few screenplay format fics I've ever bothered starting or trying to finish, and an MMORPG fic with my own original player character.

Last year was pretty okay for me, but I didn't see a lot of smiles from other people. This year, I hope that changes.

Finally turned it the outline for the hopefully-for-pay project, got back feedback almost immediately, so it's on to revising/further planning!

I signed up for a Habit goal at the getyourwordsout DW comm (pledge to do writing activities N days in the year).

Not a plot bunny, but a laptop. I'm scrounging, and I lost my word count for the first eleven days of the month. That means I'm scurrying to try to "catch up" and THAT means I have to keep my back to the window or I get distracted. AGAIN.

So is life.

I may have December's backups, but the January files aren't reading at all. Hard drive isn't reading, and it won't boot up at all. There's a tech, but no money for paying them yet. It's a nightmare. (Actually, literally. This is the second time the computer has taken the backup WITH IT since I started posting on DW.)

On the up side, I'm still posting finished stories, and I wrote 17K and change in four days.

I've been having a lot of fun with Chocolate Box (assignment and treats both) but haven't made a lot of progress on the last treat I wanted to write (or anything non-exchange-related). Other than 400 words I added to a WIP the other day.

Otoh, I *have* been making some progress on the educational materials I make to sell, so that's good? Because $$$.

(I still want to write more stuff for the fun of it, though.)

I was doing well pre-Christmas but I haven't got back in to doing art regularly since the break. I'm doing a social media detox in Feb and hopefully I will get back to arting everyday. Signing up for the ljbookbingo didn't help either as I fell down a rabbit hole reading recs posts and making lists.

I did finish the fic I wrote for Fandom Stocking and I have done some art and filled a slew of other stocking with wee fillers so I am feeling virtuous in that respect. Not sure if I will hang a Fandom Stocking next year as I get stressed feeling I haven't done enough. I don't like to put up a stocking and not fill others.

Just want to say that I'm going to miss this comm and to read all the comments from people updating on their progress... This comm has taught me some good things, for instance that it's okay to let go of bunnies after some time, when you realize they're not as interesting or inspiring as you once thought, or just because. Good for me, because I had a habit of feeling bad about not writing bunnies from years and years ago! ;)

I'll try to keep up the good habits I've learned here!

(Have I already mentioned [community profile] writethisfanfic here? I forget.)

I continue to be buried beneath a stack of bunnies, but at least they are fuzzy and warm during this cold time.
