How is everybody this Weds?

This is a check-in post! You do not have to check in if you don't want to and there are no requirements for what you need to check in with. This is your space, so have at!

Feel free to talk about success, frustration, current projects, nagging projects, exciting projects, and everything else going on.

If you have a deadline, you can do it! If you need a deadline, they're available.

(many thanks to [personal profile] taichara for stepping in last week as well and doing the heavy-lifting)

I am behind with my nano, but the story itself is coming along nicely.

I have to write another secret santa but I'm dreading it since the recipient wants fluff with VERY little angst. Which is not my thing. But I'm gonna do it! In time, even! I just have to think about it a bit more so I can put my spin on it and make it not-boring. :)

I want to sign up to a secret santa but I'm always hindered by my own ambitions and end up pulling all nighters to throw together something decent to hand in.

Every year. Without fail.

So, IDK. I'm currently stuck revising last year's effort, which has an idea that I like but it's kind of incoherent thematically. I want to tighten it up but I might have to re-write it entirely to do so, haha.

Big podfic all done but the last pass for smoothing out volume fluctuation and reducing the number of annoying mouth noises.

Seekrit Santa fic pootling along thanks to the mini-wrimo 100-words-a-day project.

New job eating my brain but bizarrely increasing my energy.

My everyday progress is still shite, but I've managed to bang out a couple quickies for the first time in more than half a year: A post-series Cobra Kai gen short, and a slight revisionism of classic Fourth Doctor. Now I have a bunny for a post-series/revisionist Samurai Jack piece that's still maximum bittersweet, and getting a few more ideas for an Angel/Dark Angel crossover set in the early, far less angsty days of Angel.

I had a great idea for a fic yesterday, started writing it frantically, and this afternoon have suddenly realized that it's not actually very good and is mostly an excuse for the punchline at the end. Now I'm not sure what I want to do about it. Try and make it into something longer and worth reading for the whole thing? Shorten it considerably so that it works as a fic that's basically about the punchline? Just trash it?

I think I'm just going to let it sit for a while and see how I feel when I come back to it.

I've got a bit of progress--

Writing short stories, I've got 40K done so far this month.

But it's NOT a novel.

Frustrating!

Finished drawing my book cover and now colouring it in. I also went through a bingo card and looked at it to find and plan the quickest way to get a line as I want the banner!
