I didn't realize how emotional it would be to reply to last week's comments. ^^;; Thank you.

Got a few things archived on AO3 over the weekend, and wrote three drabbles today (and a ficlet) to help get my sea of tabs under control. Picked up a pinch hit due Friday, so that'll be this evening, hopefully~

Working on editing last Big Podfic in the hopper. Then I need to get back to that hopefully-for-money outline.

Aaaand....meanwhile, my time and energy are getting eaten by theatre projects for a while, and I just accepted a job offer, which means I will be full-time employed for the first time in a billion years, plus all the mental/energy overhead of starting a new job. While I'm gearing up for auditions for the show I'm direction. It'll be...exciting?

Finished my felt doll and promptly fell into a looking at patterns on the internet hole, which I still haven't come out of!

I did some drawings for Trick or Treat so I haven't spent all my time on the 'net.

My life kinda went insane in the last few weeks - it took till now for me to even *read* last week's post! But I've appreciated having this space to come and post about what I'm doing, because the other people on my usual chats don't always want to hear my ramble about what I've done or not done writing-wise, lol. So hopefully there will be a community to continue that, or someone who wants to take over as admin/mod, perhaps.

And I feel satisfied that I have at least managed to finish my one open exchange assignment (nice and early! was the first fic in the collection, even), and I'm signed up for Yuletide (and have already found letters in the app for two fandoms I can totally write and am offering). Plus I've been following a new fandom I nominated for Yuletide (the TV show FBI) and am getting excited for it, so I'm happy.

Didn't manage to get any WIPs finished recently (all I did was start *three* of them for Rookie Blue, lol - though I have posted some short ficlets to an ep-related "fic" that I hope to continue when I have time - 74 total eps and I've done ficlets for 7 so far, some drabbles, some longer)…

I'll keep it updated with any new WIPs I created, as well as current wordcount, and it's somewhere I can point prospective betas to. If anyone likes it and wants to beta (mostly characterization/plotting with a little flow), they can read the current snippets and make their decision based on that.

The rest of my life got sucked into job and work-related black holes. And lack of sleep due to all of that. But there is light at the end of that tunnel… so I'm celebrating that.

And thank you. As we get closer to the end of the year, I'm going to encourage everyone to post other writing-related places they hang out at (if you do discord at all, there's a Yuletide discord with writing channels) to fill the little gap this place will leave.

I know about the Yuletide discord (I'm a tagmod for Yuletide - that was part of the insanity in the last few weeks, lol, as we went through thousands of nominations) but I've never been able to bring myself to use it - I took a look at Discord and couldn't stand the fact that one couldn't turn off ALL emojis. (I think most emojis are ugly, except for the Apple ones, which of course one can't use unless on Apple devices.) That and part of the color scheme stays dark even if you switch the chat part to light, and I really don't care for light-colored stuff. So I don't really use it. I'm from the old school IRC group, so there's a handful of us who still hang out on IRC and chat about anything and everything there - and of course there's the Yuletide tagmod Slack that we use to coordinate with, and chat all year long on. It's just sometimes nice to post to people who don't hear one talk about it all the time, and see what others are up to. :)

So yeah, I guess I'd suggest people come to the Yuletide IRC so there are more of us chatting. :)

So I complained (well, to some extent) about a story that was basically writing itself, but not being... uh... a candidate for great prose? It's very dialogue driven and I think it's great for a script or what those of us in the fandom would consider a "fan case." I've tried to add things outside of the more dialogue heavy portions, but sometimes it's obvious that it's forced (the story is being received well so far, though, so there's that). Oddly, I'm coming to terms with it. I know I could write a better flowing story with natural descriptions and such. But... and I've said this somewhere before... if it becomes my last fic ever, I would be just fine with that.

I think that sometimes a story ends up... how it it ends up, and sometimes it's more important that it's done and that the idea is out there than that it's perfect. If people are enjoying it and you're comfortable with it, then that's the important part.
