I have finally taken the plunge and drafted the third-and-last podfic for my Big Bang triptych! Also, much editing.

I still hate airplanes. Also construction, cars, trucks, street sweepers, the neighbors' giant humming outdoor AC-generator, and whoever was playing the harmonica before dinner this evening. I gotta stop doing giant podfic projects in summer, it's just too annoying!

The projects themselves, however, continue to be lots of fun. Even if I have reached the more-tedious editing phase...

Last week, I mentioned that I had a second plot bunny come to me for the big bang I was writing...well, that bunny is now almost 15,000 words so I've decided I'm going with it instead of my original story.

I'll come back to the first one at some point, it's too good a story to give up on, but when you write more on one story in a week than you have in three months on another one, you just have to go with the one the muses want to work on.

Well, I had wanted to finish off this VLD fic before the new season, but what I thought was a ~2k fic is currently sitting at close to 7k and I still have at least four major plot-beats/outline-points to hit before the end. That's not counting some spots where I know I need to fill in while editing.

It's nice to have a lot of words, but I was not expecting them to show up for what I thought was a silly little project! ^^;;

I, uh, watched a "new" show - Alphas (all 24 eps in one week), got seriously obsessed (obviously), and started an entirely new fic for it. On the bright side, I wrote two drabbles and a short fic for Alphas, *and* have been editing my AUex assignment in between writing this fic. The fic just will not end, though, lol - it's 20k after two weeks of writing, and I'm *hoping* the end is in sight? If I do manage to finish it (which has to be attributed to the other fan of Alphas that I know who has been acting as brainstorming and characterization beta, which has kept me on track instead of abandoning it like I have done with others), it will be the longest thing I've ever posted; it's already the longest thing I've written, period. So yay for August productivity all of a sudden? Sort of? Even if it's an entirely new fandom and fic…
