I ended up deleting 800 words of fic. just cut it out, and now I'll be rewriting the scene. it makes me feel both bad (because I was proud of my word count) and good (so much lighter and freee)

It sounds like it's something that needed some editing. I'm sure the rewrite will do what you need it to do.

Finishing a story for a fic exchange and working on an article that's overdue.

Also debating whether or not to sign up for Yuletide. I nominated, but I don't know if I'll have time this year, and I defaulted last year, so if I do so this year I'm in trouble.

You could always just watch for treats to write? I know it's not as exciting as getting something in return, but it sounds like signing up really might not be a good idea.
