Just a reminder - this is your community, too. Feel free to use it to ask for advice, vent, commiserate, celebrate, etc.

This is our final month! Great job, everyone! If you finished one project you wouldn't have otherwise finished, you are amazing. If you've worked on huge projects that were doing their best to intimidate you, you're awesome. Word count, quantities, etc. don't matter. You tackled a thing (or many things) and even if you're not all the way finished, you kept at it and that is the most important thing you can do. You know what you want to do and you're trying to do it. Good job, everyone.

This is also a weekly check-in! You do not have to check in, of course, but if you would like to comment on the last week, feel free!

If you have a deadline coming up, you can do it! If you need a deadline, feel free to ask!

(If anyone would like a Brainstorming Post, feel free to ask!)

The project I would have given up on without even trying now has over 20k words. In Aristotelian terms, I've passed the crisis and am building toward the climax. And it's a very rightward-leaning story, with relatively little denouement planned.

IT'S IN REACH.

(Also THE END IS NEAR, which sounds much more ominous.)

I... have also decided to add yet another project to my list. Uh... yeah.

Unfortunately stuck on what happens next! I didn't notice this little snag until just now but now I need to solve one more problem before it's smooth sailing to the end. UGH!

Thanks for running this community!

In fact, it is already unsnagged! :D

Thanks for the encouragement.

I finished another fic last night! :) So I feel good about that. It's a terribly late bday fic too, so I've felt bad about it...

What this comm has given me this year is enough spark to move on and keep writing even when it's been an uphill battle. It feels somehow easier to keep trying when I know that there are other people out there who are also trying to do their best. :) And it has led to me finding the ending to one of my longterm fic projects, one that I never thought even would have an ending! It's partly written now, just so I don't need to keep it fresh in my head while I'm writing the chapters leading up to it. So I just want to say that I love this comm. :D

I'm using my "checking in" icon.

I did not finish my Suspense-Romance RPF lingering WIP last year; in fact, I got so badly derailed in May that I though I might never write fiction again. Nevertheless, I managed to complete my assignments for Rarely Written and Remix.

Yesterday, inspired by [community profile] snowflake_challenge, I went into my WIP folder and got out three fragments, two dating back to 2013. "I don't remember writing those words," I thought, "but they're not too bad." LSS, I added to both stories. I might get two short fics finished this week. The oldest fragment is the shortest and it sounds like it might have been the start to an alternative universe? Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna get that done before the end of the month.

Besides the suspense romance RPF sitting stalled at around 13,000 words, there's another WIP stalled out at 10,000 words that I haven't looked at in two years, and a Civil War AU that I can't seem to stop researching and start writing. Oh, and a co-written completed novella that got indifferent reviews from two betas and needs drastic revisions that I'll have to complete on my own because my co-writer left fandom.

There's more, too. I hope there's going to be another session. I need it.

I was pretty gung-ho at the start of the year, but my job was so physically exhausting this summer (and most of fall) that I lost a lot of interest in getting much done. I did finish a short story and participated in the Yuletide exchange, so that's something. And I'm getting ever closer to finishing a 150,000+ word fanfic that is almost two years in the making.

I haven't put words to screen yet, but one of the bunnies loafing around eating all the food but not doing anything useful has started to give me hints about its dreams of the future, so there's that.

I hope the comm continues for another year; I already incorporated it into my 2016 resolutions!
