Just a reminder - this is your community, too. Feel free to use it to ask for advice, vent, commiserate, celebrate, etc.

We've been here for TWO MONTHS! \o/ It is time, if you need or want to revise your list, to revise your list! There is nothing wrong with keeping all your bunnies, but it is also okay to let go.

This is also a weekly check-in! You do not have to check in, of course, but if you would like to comment on the last week, feel free!

If you have a deadline coming up, you can do it! If you need a deadline, feel free to ask!

If you are Camp Nano-ing, you can do it!

The current Brainstorming Post is here.

This past week I have been sick like a dog, so absolutely nothing has been done. The week before though, there were words written and fics posted. :D

I'm deep in planning for the next couple of chapters of my monster kink fic together with my beta, so that's getting some direction. I also have to review some "canon material" for this: lives, tv shows, music vids, and fanclub only vids... Research! But I feel like this is moving forward now. This also means that one item on my bunny list is now forking out to more detailed items, one for each chapter, so the list is growing. :)

In a moment of weakness I signed up for a challenge. Ooops. It's not due until June 20th though.

I started writing again on Sunday after a long time of not doing much (mainly due to being in pain). I'm not sure how much I've written-- at least 3000 words, possibly more.

I'm in the middle of writing a sex scene that I'm not absolutely sure belongs where it is. I'm simply not sure the reasons for it make sense. I'll see what my first reader says when I run it past them.

Posted a zillion drabbles, got some more spinning done ...

Going to probably try to tackle Camp NaNo at least but starting late, as per usual *lolololol*

I wrote a whopping 72 words last week, but they were the first words I've written since mid-February, so I'm counting that as a mild success. My goal is to write something every day in April, even if it's just a sentence. I need to play catch up.

my son is visiting and I haven't had a chance to write, but I did add a new bunny to my list, since one popped up while I was showering and it seems super interesting to me at the moment.

next week should herald the return to writing. hopefully. :)

Nice to know I'm not the only one who gets ambushed by bunnies in the shower. :D (I think they must all be Psycho fans or something...)

This past week was also very slow. I've still mostly been writing book reviews as I finish things, but I really, really want to carve out some time to write a little, at least, every day. Don't have to be hitting my GYWO goal or anything.

Have [community profile] unconventionalcourtship due on Sunday, so that's going to be my major push forward \o/.

Finally submitted my MA thesis!

More to the point, I hope to be writing at least a little bit every day starting this weekend. Dropping my daily quota down to 50 words a day until I get back into the groove; at the very least I need the brain juices churning again. Hopefully I can drag it up to 250 words a day again. I want to push at least one significant story out by mid-June.

I managed to start one of my plot bunnies, and I started on another chapter for a fanfic. I've written multi-chaptered original fiction before, but I forgot how hard it was.

Agreed. Mutli-chapter is harder. Much more stuff to keep track of, plus it just takes longer to write. Go you for starting the chapter and the plot bunny though. I always feel good any time I can knock one of the bunnies down, I have so many of the darn things. :)

I didn't used to outline, but I've been trying to do it more often, especially with my recent multi. I don't outline entire stories before starting them, but I try to plan ahead a chapter or two at a time.

I dropped out of Heroinebigbang. I really, really need a lot more information about what was going on in China and India during the 1300s-1500s, and there's a paucity of that available online. Or in libraries. Or JSTOR. Or Wiley. Complicating matters is the fact that I only read one language well--English. (I can make shift with Latin if I have a thorough Latin dictionary and a few hours.) This means that many texts that are only available in the languages of India and China are barred to me. I not only need the information, I need it in translation. And I can't afford to buy all of the books that I need.

This is the second ficathon that I've had to drop out of this year. I'm barely getting any writing done, and I don't really feel any impulse to write, either. I don't feel that I have anything to say--nothing that anyone wants to listen to, anyway--and I'm getting more and more demoralized by the sporking of Fifty Shades Freed, because dear CHRIST, that thing is boring and repetitive beyond belief. It is everything that I try not to do in writing...and people ate it up, whether it was a fanfic, published by an online press based in Australia, published by an imprint of Random House, or a movie. It has been shit in four incarnations and people STILL buy it.

It makes me wonder if I should even bother. Because shit sells. I've always put tons and tons of effort into plot and characterization in fanfics...and I'm lucky if I get a handful of views, never mind tens of thousands. People want shipping and sex and I'm no good at writing either. I'm ace. I'd much rather write about something that I find interesting. But it seems like the whole world disagrees with me.

hi! I disappeared a couple of months ago but now I'm back. No progress on anything so far because I've been settling into a new job/apartment, but I didn't want to stay away for too long. Right now I'm reassessing my artistic "vision" and the kind of stories that I want to finish. Glad this community is still here! :)
