How's everyone doing with their writing this week, now that we've passed the half-way point?  Have you been working on your WIPs?  Made any progress?  Run into any trouble?  Let's talk about it!

It is! It's the time to get the real edits going and polish the work! I kind of love that. While getting the first draft out, not so much. It's hard work for me most of the time. The bunny list has helped me so much in the past! Like you say, keeping priorities straight, but also writing a bunny down makes it real somehow, and if it sits there and looks unappetizing for a while, it's much easier to throw it out. :)

I was in HP!!! For years, actually. Mostly wrote Malfoy/Snape stuff. (Both the elder and the younger Malfoy)

I hate getting first drafts out, too! It's the hardest part of writing for me. Or those instances when you get a beta back and you're told you really need another scene or two in-between somewhere to make it all flow. XD

Ooh, that must be it! Did you write a lot of porn? I vaguely remember something like that. I write Snapefic too, but mostly Snarry. But I read a lot of H/D stuff, and random bits of porn from a variety of pairings XD

It sort of feels good to know I'm not the only one who find it hard! LOL Misery loves company or something. ;) And yeah! At least my beta is always really good at describing why more is needed, and how, so I get a good idea of what to do with it. But it's so easy to forget something, because it's so clear what's going on in my head. (I did get a request for a little more details on a particular scene in this fic, so this feels very relevant)

Oh yes, lots and lots of filthy porn! LOL I have a hard time writing anything with a rating lower than R for some reason. So. lots of smutty Snucius and Snaco (and some Malfoycest too actually). I cowrote some Remus/Snape too for a while... :) It was a huge fandom, and I sometimes miss that feeling when you get a comment within an hour of posting, and had lots of them after just a day. Now I'm lucky if I get more than two comments in total on a fic! LOL

I've been in relatively tiny fandom's writing rare pairs so I know the feeling! Maybe that's why I keep coming back to HP. Possibly also because the canon is so big, has so many possibilities, and the people are so talented. But there are talented writers in every fandom, however small, I'm sure!

=P if you miss the loads of comments you could come back! We always need more porn!

Oh yes, Japanese rock band RPS is a very small fandom, and I've been in little tiny anime/manga ones as well... But it is still satisfying to write the bunnies that hop into my head, even if I have few readers. ;) Have to say that HP had so many wonderful writers, it was kind of intimidating at times.

LOL HP is lacking in porn?! ;) Weeeeeell. I'm not sure I can ever go back to HP, because of some rather nasty experiences that soured the entire thing for me, but I won't say never! I will however dip my toes back into Bleach, which at least is bigger than my current fandom! :D

Mostly Byakuya/Renji, but also Renji/Hisagi and Ukitake/Hisagi.
