Just a reminder - this is your community, too. Feel free to use it to ask for advice, vent, commiserate, celebrate, etc.

Awesome! We did it! One Dead Plotbunny 2014 is over~ Feel free to check-in with your weekly stuff or everything from the year, if you'd like!

We will be rolling on into the 2015 project over the weekend, after some advertising and whatnot in a few places. Feel free to advertise on your own as well! (we have a banner here)

If you have a deadline coming up, you can do it! If you need a deadline, feel free to ask!

The goal of this meme, ideally, is to find someone you can talk to about writing, about your projects and how they're going, or whatever you agree upon. If it's a cheerleader you want, you should be able to ask for one. Communities like this one, or the discussions posts at gywo, are superb and wonderfully helpful, but for a flake like me it's too optional. I can not report back for months and no one would poke me about it. Additionally, I have trouble expressing myself on the fly, e.g. in posts like this. So I'd have to either spend a lot of time writing and being careful about my phrasing when expressing a problem I'm dealing with, or risk being misunderstood. Chatting with someone helps free me of that pressure of getting it right the first time. Idk, I have the feeling that if I take too long, people who could help me would not see my post, because not everyone revisits this post when it has been posted for some days, and it's time for a new one.

Personally, I would love to have someone who can help me keep my enthusiasm for a story alive. That can be someone who knows about the fandoms I'm writing for, or doesn't mind me talking about them. Naturally, I would also want to help them untangle the snarls in their own writing problems, offer beta services as far as I am able to etc.

That was probably more than you wanted to know xD

That's what would I would like mostly, because I work better with only one task at a time, instead of having to pick bits and pieces out of an e-mail / comment to reply to. But it would be something you could negotiate with your buddy.

I see now! Yeah, I used to have a buddy like that years ago (we were in the same fandoms, which also helps tons). I really miss it, because I feel some of my best stories came out of that sort of brainstorming & tossing ideas around. Even just having someone to explain things to helps, I think, because even if they don't follow everything you're saying, it often helps you to articulate it.

Exactly! My best friend is also my writing buddy, and we've been getting ourselves to write since the end of 2012. Before that, I've been in a writing slump for years and could go entire months without producing a single word. My wordcounts since have grown exponentially in comparison. It's very rewarding. :D

The thing is though, we're both relative novices and incredibly similar in our tastes and abilities, meaning we both suck at plotting. And currently, we only have Sherlock as fandom in common. It might be nice to have someone with a different perspective or knowledge of other fandoms I'm writing for. :)
