I wrote about 825 words in the past week, but not for anything with a deadline.

I do have a Big Bang deadline: complete rough draft to be turned in by Feb 28th. I have an incomplete fic I was going to work on for that, but I'm not feeling it. I have 2 other plots I would like to write, though. I just need to get my butt in gear.

Oof, how far are you along on the Big Bang fic? Does it have to be the minimum length for the check-in? For longer stuff I pretty much have to outline before I start or else I just lose track of where I was going.

Man, I couldn't write that much in a week to save my life, I think, haha! Maybe if there was a deadline I desperately needed to meet, but I'd be so stressed out... last week I went for a 4800 word goal on verbosity and I did finish but it was exhausting because I'm still trying to force myself into a daily pace!

Congrats on finishing your Fandom Stocking things!

Squeaked out one ficlet, and have now committed to dusting off a fic that's almost two decades old and posting it with minimum tweaking may the gods have mercy on me lol. I also have a dim sort of plan for possibly getting the extra bits added to Heart of Steel.

That said, I'm still working on details for an L5R campaign and just acquired Guilty Gear Xrd, so who knows when I'll actually do something productive ;3~

I'm still good with the basic premise; but I can guarantee that my style (and grammar) has shifted like the breaking up of Pangaea since it was originally written and just looking at the thing will probably make me /paaaaws with despair X3

Hahahaha! Yeah, if I wanted to do that I'd probably just end up rereading it and then rewriting completely. Of course, rewriting is painful. All those wasted words...

If I rewrote it I'd be disappointing the person who wants to see the original (remembering it from those Pangaea days), alas X3

For some reason I'm still really stuck on how to make a shortish fic work and now it's past when the countdown for the show coming back even ended. I want to finish it anyways since it was a decent idea! But I should probably shelve it until I finish my things with actual deadlines (of which there are two right now, although one deadline is softer). I've mostly been filling my GYWO words with media criticism instead, which is good and important and something I really want to do better, but. FIC. All this half-done fic that I need to get finished up/edited/etc and I just don't want to. I got halfway through my verbosity goal though so it shouldn't be too terrible to catch up today/tomorrow.

If there are no deadlines looming, tinker with a different fic with a related premise until something sparks again --?

Haha I have one deadline in uh— eight days? I have a completed draft of that one. The short one for some reason is more frustrating because it isn't meant to be that long or complex but I chose a sort of experimental structure (for me, anyways.) Trying new things! Why am I trying new things?!
