Working on chapter 9/21 of the monster; have almost 4K so far. Had several really good days where a detail I'd wanted to work in for years finally fell into place. (Unrelated: also had a blast watching blacksmithing videos for research.) ~ Oh and I've got a beta (actually more of an alpha) again, which is such a relief: it takes me so much longer to see all the bad stuff in a draft when it's only me looking at it.

Had to bail on Smallfandombang because of an emergency--two manuscripts that need to be edited by the end of the month. *swears in frustration*

Paid work is a wonderful and necessary thing. I just...y'know. Wanted to do both.

I am doing slightly better this week than last: 2000 words on a WIP, and a few hundred on a short piece. It's still hard to get excited about writing at the moment, but I'm blaming winter. :/

I have some clear time for writing tomorrow! I'm trying to decide whether to make myself write 200-300 words on my WIP of Doom, or allow myself to work on a story concept I shelved aaaages ago but suddenly have inspiration for.

After complete radio silence in the first two weeks of the year, I had a sudden influx of ideas, and am now kind of in a normal state of procrastination again.

I am having too many ideas. And I just noticed that I haven't updated my idea bunny list in over a month. No wonder I'm losing track.

Time to take a few minutes and sort yourself out.

Then work on what is either easiest or most pressing.

I finished the outlining of the novel and I added about 1000 words and edited the first chapter. This has been on the bunny list for a few years, so I'm proud.

I also wrote 3k of new fic, one of which is already in postable shape. They weren't on the list but they hit another writing goal (postable fic each month) so I'm counting it a win.

I've written nothing for the last three weeks but that was as much by design as by accident. We had a huge deadline at work yesterday (Friday) so I knew I would be exhausted and not in the mood for writing. Unfortunately I found out yesterday that the next two weeks are going to be almost as bad because two of my colleagues will be away ... such is life in a very small department.

On the other hand, I'm so mentally exhausted that I'm not getting any new bunnies, so I've got that going for me. Right? Right.
