Hello, fellow writers! This is your weekly check-in, so feel free to let us know how you've gone this week, and/or vent about the US election, either will do. (This Australian hopes you are all okay.)
I've been busy with family and NaNoWriMo for the past couple of weeks, so my bunnies have been somewhat neglected of late. But I am up to 17.2k words for NaNo, and for some reason, my novel has become a Titans vs Olympians redux death matchI wonder where I am getting this inspiration from. :/ :/ :/ So that's ... an unexpected turn of events. But I'll run with it. Sure! let's see where this takes me.
At least I'm ahead of where I'm meant to be, and it's better than being stuck, so. I am very much pantsing this novel, so it is going in weird directions, but it's okay! I have three characters now! I started with one! And now an epic mythical war that the gods might lose, but hey, it's getting the words down so I don't much care right now. I have other things I'd like to work on but they're not high on the priority list while NaNo's going on. But once December hits, the plan is for another chapter of a rewrite project, and to finish off the other novels I didn't pick for NaNo. One is very close to being a finished first draft if I could only get them bloody moving, so. I'd like that done by the end of the year so I can then spend next year editing it wooooo.
Is everyone else having a productive time? Are your projects coming together? If you're also doing NaNoWriMo, what projects are you working on, and how well is it going for you?
Optional writing prompt: We've all got WIPs that have been sitting around for ages. If you've managed to finish one, and you're particularly proud of it for whatever reason, tell us about it! Let's share our successes, and the good things we've achieved, and what it took to get them done. Feel free to share excerpts if you like.
