Life has been busy lately, but I've managed to get a bit of writing done in spite of it all. I've signed up for Spook Me (spook_me ), which is my favourite Hallowe'en ficathon, and the only time of the year when I will legit attempt to write horror, even though I am terrible at it. I just have so much fun with Spook Me, and the prompts they send me are always top notch. They never fail to inspire me.
This year, I've decided to pick up a very old zombie AU wip-of-a-plot-bunny that's taken on several iterations over its long life. I'm hoping it'll finally get written - and finished - this time round. I've also decided to be brave and sign up for two fics, just because another ghost fic idea kept pestering me, and now it's basically staring at me, challenging me to not finish it because it won't be very long but oh gods it's a bit intimidating trying to make sure it works the way I want it to work. D:
I know Yuletide's just around the corner, too, though I've never participated. My fandoms are all too small for Yuletide. /fandom of one problems Is anyone going to participate this year, or for any other challenges that are coming up? Anyone planning to do NaNoWriMo?
Your optional prompt for this week is: What's the longest time it's taken you to finish a WIP? I think my record is five years, and it was for a oneshot. I originally handwrote half-a-draft on a piece of paper, then lost it, then found it, then kept losing it, until I finally just sat down and typed it again from scratch a couple of years ago to fill a bingo square, just so it would stop bugging me. At least it finally got finished? XD
