Introducing myself

Hi all, I'm Dialecticdreamer here on DW, and my blog is more about society and our media (especially sci-fi and fantasy) than about my mundane life, but there's an ongoing amount of fiction posted there, too.
Which is why I ended up here...I got stuck this morning, wondering if THAT story would ever be finished. You know the one, where you're 3/4 of the way done with a first draft, and there are details which MUST be included...pushing 'The End' ever farther into the future? Well, after the fifth complaint of the morning about how stuck I was, and how I was never going to END this thing, he rather helpfully suggested, "Then write something else for a while."
I made a list of the "something elses" that are waiting for me to be done with THIS story, some for reasons of continuity, some because I've discovered that juggling more than one open story is a potential disaster looking for a spot marked 'X'.
That list has forty-six items on it RIGHT NOW, and I'm positive I forgot a few things.
Since one of my goals is to be a better writer, any tips for juggling multiple stories would be tremendouslyappreciated.
