So, that list you made last week? Go ahead and grab it/load it/bring it up in another window.

If it's making you want to run screaming in terror, hide under your sofa and refuse to come out until August, I completely understand. If it's actually not that bad, well-organized and manageable, well, that's fine too. I'm a little envious.

However... don't run screaming in terror. Because it's not a scary list of things you have to do.

It's an amazing list of awesome stories you are going to write/videos you are going to make/etc.

Seriously, look at all the cool stuff you have planned!

If you are like me and have such an amazing list of cool stuff that you have no idea what awesome thing you want to work on first (or perhaps want to work on all the awesome things at once), take a couple of minutes and look it over.

I saw a few people who noted deadlines for big bangs/fests right on their lists. That's great! If you have a deadline coming up, that should be your priority. I know it can be hard, because there is always something shinier vying for attention. But I also know you can do it!

If you don't have any pressing deadlines, look over your list and work on the first thing that jumps out at you. (If and when you have time for it, of course.)

This is also a weekly check-in! You do not have to check in, of course, but if you would like to comment on the last week, feel free!

It's an old saying: "A new broom sweeps clean."

I've found that this can apply to writing as well. I don't just mean changing your methods or approach (e.g., writing out of sequence if you're usually linear, or freewriting if you're usually a detailed planner), I mean actually trying a new writing tool--or even switching to trusty paper and pen. Sometimes it's just the jolt you need to get things flowing--or at least save you some hair pulling.

So, what tools do you use? What do you use them for? Why do you love them? What do you wish they did better?
