We will be rolling on into the 2014 project in a few days. I'll be advertising in a few places but feel free to advertise as well! (And if anyone wants to make a banner or something, please do! I'm photoshop-impaired so it's safer if I don't.)

Most of what I wrote in 2013 was for two very old WIPs (both had been conceived, titled, and roughly outlined in 2004) in Yugioh!, my very first fandom. The first few chapters of each story had been posted in 2010: in 2013 I added a total of 40K words between the two and finished them off.

I also wrote 5 pieces (totaling @13K) for Yuletide.

My goal in 2014 is to be a third as productive as you are.

(Seriously, I am always in awe at how effortlessly you produce your pieces, and how very readable they are (even though I rarely know the fandom).

(Awww, I'm sure I'll love it, but no pressure! I have a feeling I'll be getting back onto the fandom before the end of the year.)

Produce or edit - lot of editing, lately. And now trying to figure out what to do with an entire novel of jossed continuity. *facepalms* I think I can pick it apart and fix it, but not right now.

I really hope this year will be better than last year. ^_^

I know that pain very well. It's not novel length, but I keep thinking I ought to try to revise Legacy to replace the made-up Gold Saints from AcerB's fanart with the "real" ones from Lost Canvas, but it feels as though once I start to pick it apart and take out the outdated stuff, the entire thing will unravel.

idk, I think with Legacy, I'd leave it alone and just note that it was written before LC was a glimmer.

Yeah, I've had a note like that in the forward for years, but ... well, you know. If you're the type that likes to stay fairly aligned to canon, big divergences exert a strong pull.

Oh, I totally get it. I'm having that flail over a few of my own WiPs where there's been more 'in the extended materials' information translated and the original localization was fuzzy and... I think I've managed to convince myself that I'm just going to run with what I started.

But isn't there another canon version of the past that isn't LC, too? I think if you're not careful, you'll tie yourself up in a knot.

yeah, Kurumada is retelling LC himself as Next Dimension (which I totally reject because Shion has SHORT HAIR) but afaik it's all the same characters as LC. Just ... drawn by Kurumada.

I think it's half the same, half-different? I know the Gemini are different, the Pisces is a blond, and Cancer (Deathtoll?) is flaming.

For the year, though-- definitely did a LOT of writing and editing. Looking back through the community, way more than I realized. The plotbunny list is still huge, but I'll keep working on it!

Yay! A whole year! :D Have to say I'm glad this comm exists; it has helped me. I started that year with writer's block, and ... ended with it as well. But I did have a few writing spurts in between! I have realized that stress and personal problems really makes it hard to be creative, but it's also been "nice" to see I'm not alone. ;) So thank you!!!

Last week I signed up for wipbigbang... and submitted the *second* of the two WIPs that top my list. Which effectively means I've committed to getting the endings of both stories done by mid-April. *flail* (Not to mention having two bingo cards I'd actively like to score on--and I did start a possible fill for one of them today.) In any case, last week I managed to top a 4k-word verbosity goal, and made some significant headway on the first WIP in line.

I don't recall exactly when I joined this comm last year, but I posted a dozen fics in 2013 (one chaptered), which is less than I'd like. On the other hand, I did a lot of work on some longer WIPs that aren't yet complete.


I can take a shot at doing a banner for you, if you'd like. :) An idea of what sort of image you'd want would be good, in that case.
