How's everyone doing with their writing this week, now that we've passed the half-way point?  Have you been working on your WIPs?  Made any progress?  Run into any trouble?  Let's talk about it!

I've gotten about 2,000 words on my WIP done this week. Feeling really good about that. AND I've signed up to attend the first writer's group meetup that I signed up for later this month. :)

What a coincidence! I also have a first meeting of a writer's group meetup to attend, which I'm going to tomorrow. =D Are you excited for yours? How many people are attending?

Well done on the 2,000 words! That's a lot in a week. What kind of thing are you writing? =)

I am excited! It's a "shut up and write" group, the idea of which is that it's more of a space to get some work done instead of actively critiquing one another's work, but I'm hoping to meet some neat people and perhaps form a satellite group for that. Right now, I think about 8 people are going to come.

I'm writing a long piece of original work that started as a Christmas present, then became a birthday present, and now is an unknown-finish-date present for my significant other and a friend. ;)

ETA: What sort of writing group are you attending? :)

There's a Shut Up and Write group locally here too, but the timing has never been right for me =( That sounds really neat, though! Wish you luck with the new people. It's always lonely just writing away by oneself, so writing groups like these are great.

I'm attending a meet-up with a mishmash of people who live in and around my city, since most of the other writing groups are downtown, about an hour away. There are five other people attending and I have no idea what they'll be like, but hopefully they're cool people. DW and LJ have spoiled me somewhat because everyone has much more in common with me than most people I meet in RL, if you know what I mean?

Presents for loved ones are always nice! =D Good luck!

Oh, cool. I know what you mean about DW/LJ, definitely. But writing is such a solitary activity that I think it's vital for writers to get out and meet more of their kind, if only to bond over ridiculous things like linguistic problems or the characters of a story not doing what you want them to. I hope yours is productive and the people interesting, helpful, and chill. :D

Thank you! It's been written in fits and starts all week because my kid was sick. Still, though, gotten lots done.
