Hello, erstwhile slayers of plotbunnies! Much like last week, this is a week where it can be hard to focus on anything we may be intending to focus on.


So, like last week, this isn't really a check-in, but of course you may. It is, however, permission to relax and enjoy yourself for a bit. Your plotbunny herd is not going anywhere.

Maybe I'll get back on the wagon next year and finish the old plotbunnies! I still have my list... from which I've checked off absolutely nothing, and added a few.

(I did finally get ch 8 of the epic!WIP posted last week; clocked in at over 8700 words. Working on ch 9 tonight.)

I completed my 365 days of 'fixing up my website' project. When I started, I supposed I'd make it a month or so, slack, get back to it, etc. But I set such a low, steady daily goal that it worked! \o/ So... yay! I still have stuff to do, but it's so, so much better than it was.

Thanks. :) Yeah, it's not actually a bad year, even-- I finished a, what was it, 15k original work? Plus maybe 20k total that hasn't been revealed yet for fandom-stocking, plus this was the year I did the stupid soliloquy (I think?) that I actually like for whatever reason, plus that one poem in praise of my amazing beta reader, and some other work I'm holding back to give myself a cushion of things I could post if for whatever reason I couldn't write for a while.

But none of the old stuff from my list. Oh, well. This year'll be-- well, probably the same, but we can hope, right? :P

Have you tried sticking inadequate ideas together? Like, "maybe something about Robin Hood" plus "medieval world with better accommodations for blind people than expected" plus "dragons! :D" equals something approaching an actual plot and setting and cast of characters? (This is an actual example of me putting together some very half-baked ideas recently.)

IDK, it works for me but it might not work for you. I hope you can get back on track soon.

I diiiid Yuletide and another exchange, and I finally posted chapter 2 of a WIP that had been dead in the water for most of the year.

And now I've started GYWO, which means that I can't even slack off this month ... hahahaha.

Good luck with GYWO - I could never do it. ^^;; I tried a couple of years and even the year I nearly hit word count, it was mostly on 'new' things and not on stuff I'd wanted to be writing.

Yeahhh that's always hard too, although at least GYWO has this really handy tracking spreadsheet and I am a huge sucker for spreadsheet organization.
